Alright, so being a typical Mabinogi Saturday night, you walk into banquet to face a crowd of people. Graphics light up in front of you as people spam their Bard skills.
There are three types of people in this situation.
To those who keep their instrument sound on, you will probably be disappointed to find that they are spamming default music or some other generic MMLs they found on the internet.
What an ear sore.
Now there are the ones who have their instrument sounds off. They don’t care what other people playing. They don’t want to be annoyed. And that’s alright.
Now there are the ones actually spamming the skills. And I don’t mean the ones going AFK while they autoplay, but the skill spammers (though they are also included). They are the worst. They turn off their sound and spam, aware of the fact that they’re the ones being disruptive, and that they are being annoying while using “training” as an excuse.
As far as I can tell, most of these people are either Newbies or those who pose as Pro Combat players. Newbies are understandable but…
"Pros"? How long have you been playing, spending your time honing your combat skills and now intrude into the territory of Bardism, expecting the training method to be the same?
I don’t mean to come off as rude, but to disregard the existence of sound in a game is to forget that you, as a player, have a responsibility as a human being to be able to understand another’s problem.
…And what I mean by that is (most of) you have ears. (Most of) You can hear. And you definitely have eyes. You can read complaints from others. The whole point of an MMO is interaction with other players.
If you were already aware of this, I know that you have consideration for other users and you already have a special place in my heart.
If you leave here with at least a little more respect than you did for those who play music in Mabinogi, then I applaud you, and I will probably give you something nice if I ever meet you.
If you leave here completely disregarding this post, ignoring the fact that I tried to get you to understand the concept of in-game music, and scrolling past these words because you think this is pointless, I’m going to find a way for you to listen.
Done my rant.
